Incredible India a Journey Of Enlightenment
Incredible India was an amazing adventure and I am so grateful to have had this experience. There is so much to this country of incredible beauty which is filled with color, culture, tradition, religion, and festivals. Over the course of 10 days, we spent time in Delhi, Rishikesh, and Dharamsala.
We visited temples, mosques, monasteries and the spice market in Delhi. Flew to the Ananda Spa in the foothills of the Himalayas where we explored the ancient art and science of Ayurveda. Visited the Ashram where the Beatles stayed. Attended the Aarti (Festival of Lights) on the Ganges. In Dharamsala, we visited the home of the Dali Lama where we meditated with monks at the monastery and learned about Tibetan Buddhism.
This trip was attended by a group of 12 women during a Festival of Shakti which is the energy of the Divine Feminine in India. We were there for 10 days and that is exactly how long the Festival lasted. We saw ceremonies for young girls inviting them to embrace the beauty and the gift of being female, we celebrated the Goddesses and opened our conversations to how we can lift each other up and support one another.

Some Of My Favorite Things About India
SUNRISE IN THE HIMALAYAS
The world’s greatest mountain range at 2,400 kilometers long and with most of the planet’s highest peaks. From the foothills, called the Shivaliks (literally Shiva’s tresses), to mighty Kangchenjunga in Sikkim. You can’t really put into words the beauty of these amazing mountains. They are absolutely breathtaking. We woke up and meditated to the sun rising over the Himalayas. We went hiking on them and we were in awe every day looking at their beauty. I kept thinking I was in a live version of “The Sound Of Music”.
THE TEMPLES MONASTERIES AND ASHRAMS
The religions and spirituality of India is part of the country’s special character. It has been said that God is more present in India than anywhere on earth. I was amazed at the beauty of all the rituals that the people of India have. People greet you with a smile and “Namaste” to the Monks in the Temples living a life devoted to service. We visited the “Beatles Ashram” in Rishikesh and visited Dharamsala which famed as the holy residence of the Dalai Lama.
THE WOMEN & GIRLS OF INDIA
The women are strong, beautiful and proud. They carry themselves with a grace I have rarely seen elsewhere. Their clothing is absolutely gorgeous, colorful and feminine. They look like princesses every day. Covering the shoulders and decollete are a must, showing the belly is acceptable. The belly is a sign of femininity, birth.
The Birthplace of Yoga & Asana Practice
This spiritual journey was with a group of beautiful women from the Yoga studio I love in Florida called, Yoga Journey. We were blessed to be able to do yoga on our trip at some of the most beautiful and spiritual places. One day, while we were practicing outside a male peacock, walked right across the yard in front of us. He was regal and handsome. At the same time, a flock of parrots flew above us. The magical beauty of India was everywhere.
I could go on and on about the things I loved about India. I think if you watch the video above you will get a true feeling of the whole experience. Thank you for letting me share this incredible journey with you.
