Turkey Burger on a Portobello

Yield 4 Burgers

Serve by itself or top a large portobelllo mushroom with the burger to save calories and carbs.  Don't forget to add your veggies, lettuce & tomato.

Sometimes I will grill the portobello on the grill/oven for 5 minutes to heat it up.

Ingredients

1/4 low sodium chicken broth (gluten free)

1 tbsp. olive oil

1 tbsp. Dijon mustard

1 tsp. lemon or lime juice

1 tbsp. ketchup 1 or 2 cloves fresh pressed garlic

2 tsp. onion powder

2 portobello mushrooms or gluten free buns

1 lb extra-lean ground turkey (make sure to check fat content)

1/2 c oatmeal, uncooked

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl mix all the ingredients together
  2. Shape into 4 patties
  3. Cook them on the grill for 10 minutes or in the oven 10-15 min.
  4. I also love to use my George Forman Grill, it's quick and easy
