My Story: It’s Never Too Late to Start Over
People often assume I’ve always been healthy, fit, and confident in my body. The truth is, that wasn’t always the case.
I didn’t grow up playing sports. My brother had hemophilia, so much of our family’s focus was simply on keeping him safe and healthy. Fitness wasn’t part of my life, and I never considered myself athletic.
Like many women, I spent decades putting everyone else’s needs ahead of my own while raising a family and running a business. Somewhere along the way, I stopped making myself a priority.
Overwhelmed, Exhausted, and Disconnected
As the years went on, I hit a wall. I faced a cascading series of health challenges:
- Chronic Fatigue & Epstein-Barr Virus
- Autoimmune Conditions (Hashimoto’s and Vitiligo)
- Severe physical exhaustion and deep disconnection from my body
I felt tired, frustrated by how I looked, and wondered if I would ever feel like myself again. I knew something had to change.
Turning Points: My 40s and a Spinal Injury
My true wellness journey didn’t even begin until my 40s. What started as a simple desire to lose weight and feel better completely transformed my life. Through small, consistent habits, the woman who once felt broken discovered an internal strength she never knew she had. I even went on to step onto a competitive fitness stage—something I never dreamed possible.
Then came another unexpected challenge.
I was diagnosed with a stress fracture in my lower spine caused by a genetic condition called Pars Defect. The pain was debilitating. But that injury became my ultimate turning point. It taught me that our bodies are always communicating with us—and we have to learn to listen.
I refused to let my injury, my age, or my circumstances define my future. I started where I could. Some days that meant a short walk. Other days it meant a healthier meal or a few quiet moments of rest. Little by little, those small choices added up.
Finding My Purpose
What started as a personal rescue mission became a lifelong passion. Over the years, I dedicated myself to learning and became a:
- Certified Health Coach & Fitness Professional
- Certified Yoga Teacher & Sound Bath Facilitator
- Author & Wellness Educator
But my most important role is being a woman who understands exactly what it’s like to struggle, start over, and keep going.
Thriving at 60
Today, at 60 years old, I feel stronger, healthier, and more confident than I did in my 20s or 30s. Not because of a secret formula, but because of the power of simple habits, consistency, and treating my body with kindness.
My Promise to You: No Fads. No Extremes. Just Real Life.
My mission is to help women over 50 navigate healthy aging with absolute confidence and zero confusion. You will never find perfectionism or unrealistic expectations here.
Instead, you’ll find practical fitness, simple nutrition, healthy aging strategies, and encouragement from someone who is walking this exact journey right alongside you. Getting older isn’t something to fear—it’s an opportunity to become stronger, wiser, and more vibrant than ever before.
If a woman who never considered herself athletic can transform her health in her 40s and thrive into her 60s, so can you.
With Love,
Laura
