Welcome to the first session in my new home movement series. If you are looking for a highly effective, focused way to lock in your strength, challenge your stability, and truly connect with your body, I created this routine just for you.
We are going to move at a deliberate, intentional pace today, using light dumbbells to fully fire up your muscles. Don’t be fooled by the “beginner” label—we are moving mindfully so you can master your form, tap into your posture, and get a true, satisfying workout
This is a great beginner full body workout. We are using light weights 3 – 5 lbs. and moving slowly. Don’t be fooled, just because I called it a “Beginner” workout. You are still going to feel the “London Smolder”.
The Power of Light Weights and Deliberate Movement
Controlling a movement with light weights is one of the most powerful ways to build functional strength and core stability. Using three-to-five-pound weights forces your muscles to do the real work rather than relying on momentum.
When you slow down the tempo, you challenge your body dynamically, activate your deep core, and build the kind of lasting power that leaves you feeling incredibly energized. It is the perfect way to honor your body’s capabilities while pushing your fitness forward.

Your Full Body Exercise Breakdown
For your routine today, you will just need a comfortable exercise mat and a pair of light weights. We are going to move through a fluid sequence designed to challenge and support your entire body:
- Shoulder Front Raises: A focused upper-body movement to build great shoulder strength and open up your posture.
- Alternating Reverse and Side Lunges: Controlled, powerful steps to challenge your balance and strengthen your hips, thighs, and knees.
- The Football Shuffle: This is my absolute favorite. It is a quick, playful thirty-second interval to get your heart rate up and shift your energy into high gear.
- Bicep and Arm Sculpting: A targeted sequence, including high bicep curls and plate-serving extensions, to give your arms that beautiful, sculpted burn.
- Squats with Glute Squeezes: A foundational power movement to strengthen your lower body and build solid lower back support.
Your Core Work on the Floor
To wrap up your movement today, we are going to get down onto the mat for a dedicated series focused entirely on your deep core alignment and abdominal strength. These exercises cut out the strain while keeping the muscle engagement high:
Abdominal Hand Slides: A strong, supported crunch alternative that targets your core while keeping your spine perfectly aligned.
Lying Hip Lifts and Single-Leg Bridges: Powerful movements to fully wake up your glutes and improve your hip mobility.
Toe Tap Abs and Reverse Curls: Intention-driven core patterns where I will challenge you to control your leg movement straight from your deep lower abs.
Bring Your Best Energy to the Mat
As you move through this session with me, remember that your practice is entirely about your own progress and matching your own unique pace. If you want to dial up the intensity, focus on tightening your core and deepening your range of motion. Give it your best energy, celebrate what your body can do, and wrap things up with a great, well-deserved full-body stretch.
