Happy Thanksgiving
Hi everyone! Okay it’s almost turkey day.
You know what that means, family, friends and lots of good food! I hope from my last blog you got your mojo flowing and you’re in the fitness groove.
This holiday is going to be a true test. The way I see it your choices are to pig out and eat everything in sight and feel awful the next day or to have a great time, enjoy the company and eat in moderation and stay on track.
Make the decision in your head before you sit down at the table and really think it through. Remember how it feels to eat too much and not feel good? How much time and energy it takes to burn off all those calories at the gym.
Personally, I would rather eat a little of everything in moderation and know I am not going to feel like a stuffed turkey in the morning.
If you know you are going to be tempted by all the rich fattening foods here are some simple ideas to help you.
- Eat an apple before you go to dinner. It is full of fiber and will help to fill you up so you wont be so hungry.
- Drink water before, during, and after the meal to also help fill you up.
- Know your weakness. Is it the stuffing, pumpkin pie, or maybe the dinner rolls? Decide in your head before what your limit is. It could be 1 roll or 1 small slice of pie, but decide what it is and stick with it. You will feel so good when you stick to your decision.
- Remember Thanksgiving is only a trial run for the real test that comes in December!
I know you are going to fly through this one because you have your mojo flowing. Keep it going. No one can do it but you. I believe in you.
