The StreetStrider Elliptical Bike
The StreetStrider elliptical bike is going to be your new favorite piece of workout equipment. I love working out outside when the weather cools down in South Florida. My girlfriend and I went to the local park to exercise. I saw a woman ride by on a very interesting bike. First of all, it was bright yellow so that caught my eye. But what really made me pay attention is that she was standing up while riding the bike and her arms were pushing back and forth. What kind of bike was that? I, being very inquisitive could not wait to get home and Google this bike because I had never seen this type before.
The bikes are called elliptical cross trainer bikes, and work similar to the elliptical machines at the gym. I have what I call “Cardio ADD”. I get so bored on the cardio machines at the gym, after 10 minutes I want to stop because I am so bored.
Doing my research I found a few different elliptical bikes. I kept coming back to the StreedStrider elliptical bike. I noticed this bike was different from the rest of the bikes because it has three wheels instead of two. Having two wheels in the front of the bike challenges your core because you have to lean to turn the bike and this engages your core muscles as well as your obliques, hip flexors and low back muscles. Just like my standing up Ab workouts.

Which StreetStrider Model Is Right For You?
The StreetStrider comes in two different models. The 3i, which is good for moderate hills and has 3 Shimano speed gears. The 7i has 7 speed gears and is great climbing steeper hills. I live in Florida where it is pretty flat so I have the 3i model.
The Awesome Full Body Workout
I could not wait to get on my StreetStrider and start riding around the neighborhood. There is a short learning curve of about 10 minutes to get you familiar with the bike. My daughter’s boyfriend hopped on and took off right away! I needed a little extra time to learn how to start and turn. It becomes intuitive to use quickly. After about 10 minutes I was cruising around the neighborhood.
This cross training bike puts the elliptical machine in the gym to shame. You use your own body weight as well as nearly every muscle to move the bike. It is an excellent full body cardio workout. It is an excellent full body cardio workout. The first thing I noticed were my glutes and legs working right away. Hello glutes!
This is a full body workout because you use more than just your lower body to move the bike. Your arms are pulling and pushing the strider poles, which work your biceps, triceps, chest, shoulders and back muscles at the same time. I love the fact that it is easy on the joint and the back.

Hi Lev. I keep it in the second gear most of the time. I love the Street Strider and really feel it in the legs and glutes, plus its great cardio.
