What did you have for breakfast today?
I know that this can get so confusing as to what to eat, when to eat and how much to eat? I get questions all the time asking the same thing.
It’s no wonder with all the supermarket magazine covers blasting us with the latest and greatest weight loss secret or miracle diet food. American’s are obsesses with weight loss but are still having a real hard time losing weight.
The media is no help at all; they play on our “I want it now” attitude. Book titles can range from the 1 Year Diet to the One Minute Diet. (which are all great books!)
The point I am trying to make is about not the books but that the media is making us crazy and we don’t know what to do or think any more when it comes to our health and common sense.
I think the publishing industry is making everyone just a little delusional. Well the truth to weight loss may surprise you. And like most truths, it’s actually pretty simple.
You see the movie stars and famous athletes selling weight loss drinks, low fat foods and products that are loaded with artificial chemicals and artificial sweeteners. But, hey they look good!! If it works for them it must work for me, is the thinking of most people.
But let me ask you a question? Why are you listening to them instead of your own inner voice? Deep down you know foods loaded with chemicals are bad for you, eating no fat or no carbs is not what nature had intended for our bodies.
These people are selling miss-information; all they really care about is making a big paycheck. Not about you and your families health and well being for the rest of your life.
Remember when I said the truth to weight loss was actually pretty simple. The Fastest way to looking and feeling better is to increase the amount of fruit and vegetables in your diet. Sorry, if that was not the ANSWER you were looking for, but it is the truth.
Have you ever heard of Volumetrics?
Why are you eating all the time or the opposite not eating enough and always hungry? You know I am going to tell you right?
Your body is not getting the nutrients it needs at the cellular level to be satisfied. If you are eating meals with artificial ingredients, filling up on carbs or just plain eating to little. Your body will keep sending out the I am hungry message.
On of the most empowering feelings is being in control of your hunger and not thinking about food all the time. You can have this feeling by eating more fruits and veggies.
So I mentioned Volumetrics right?
But what is it? It is simply eating more foods that are high in nutrients so your body is satisfied. Your body really does not know what calories are. Calories are not it’s “First” language. Your bodies’ first language is nutrition!
By filling up on these “nature” given foods our bodies scream YES!
Finally, she is listening and feeding me nutrition not empty calories.
Your stomach is finally full because your diet is made up of a high amount of fresh fruit and vegetables, which take up more space in you stomach than say, ice cream, diet soda or even rice cakes. They are loaded with nutrients your body knows what to do with and will then signal your brain, hey we are finally satisfied. Thank you!
Another way to add more nutrients to you daily intake is in the form of juicing or green smoothies. They are not adding volume but they are adding a large amount of highly usable nutrients to the body. Consider them a nutrient transfusion for your body.
I hope after reading this you will start to think a little differently about what you are eating and why.
