The Many Benefits Of Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender Essential Oil – Essential oils are the aromatic liquid essences of flowers, leaves, stems, roots, seeds, fruit and the bark of plants and trees. Essential oils are a gift from mother nature, they are the blood of plant and are a natural form of medicine for the body.
How do Essential Oils work and affect our bodies?
When an essential oil is inhaled, the odor molecules travel up the nose where they are then trapped by the olfactory membranes. Then these simple electrical impulses are sent to the limbic system of the brain. The limbic system is connected to the parts of the brain that control heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, stress levels, hormone balance, memories, and taste.
Essential oils can have some very profound effects on the body. There are three different way to administer Essential oils, diffused aromatically, applied topically to the skin or taken internally.

Certain oils, when diffused in the air, can be calming and soothing and others can be stimulating. I just diffused Peppermint Essential oil in my office while I was working because I felt a cold coming on.
Besides using essential oils for emotional benefits, they are great to diffuse into the air to get rid of unwanted odors, such as pet odors or to help fight airborne pathogens like I did for my cold. Lavender essential oil is great to put on your pillow before bed to help relax you.
Topical Uses
Did you know it takes less than 26 seconds for chemicals to enter our bloodstream? Organic Essential oils are in my opinion a safer alternative to toxic chemicals you find in the drug store. They are absorbed by the skin and can have an immediate benefit to the area being applied as well as benefits throughout the whole body
Internal Uses (Always Check With Your Dr)
When taken internally, some essential oils can have antioxidant-like properties and anti-inflammatory properties in the cells. Some can even assist with weight loss.
Warning. Speak to a specialist before taking essential oils internally.
