The 101 on Wheatgrass & Wheatgrass Kits
Wheatgrass is like the fountain of youth that Ponce de Leon spent his life searching for.
I first learned about this amazing grass over 10 years from Brenda Cobb, the founder of the Living Foods Institute in Atlanta. At the Institute I studied raw and living foods, learned about detoxing, emotional healing, reflexology, rebounding and hydrotherapy and so much more.
Ann Wigmore ”Mother of Wheatgrass, “ was the founder of the original Hippocrates Health Institute in Boston, MA. She was a visionary and started the natural health movement in wheatgrass and living a raw food lifestyle. She felt she found the closest thing to the fountain of youth.
“The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.” ― Ann Wigmore.

Growing Wheatgrass
This healthy grass can be grown easily at home with this wheatgrass growing kit. You can also find it in capsules and in my favorite powdered form. The best way to take your green juice is to drink it for the most nutritional benefits. I like to have both options. Adding wheatgrass powder to your morning smoothie or juice is a great way to start your day. Add in 1 scoop of the powder and mix well.
Wheatgrass is really very easy to grow in your home. It takes about 9 days to sprout the seeds and grow wheatgrass that you can juice. I do it right in my living room and I love the way it looks.

Wheatgrass Juicers 101
Using a juicer will unlock digestible material in the fruits and vegetables. When juice is fresh it will provide vitamins and minerals, micronutrients, phyto-chemicals, and the enzymes that are difficult to digest when you drink or eat the raw fruits and vegetables. Not all juicers can be used to juice wheatgrass.
What is a masticating juicer?
The this masticating juicer simulates the act of chewing. It works with very low heat. You can have a one gear or two gear masticating juicer. These are very powerful; yet work slowly to extract the juice. This is the type of juicer to get if you also want to juice wheatgrass. This is the juicer I use at home. It’s great for getting every last drop of juice from the grass.
Manual Juicer
You can purchase a manual hand juicer like this one, which has no motor, and you crank it by hand. You attach it to your countertop and turn the handle to extract the juice. This type of juicer takes up very little space and is easy to clean.
I hope you are a little more familiar with wheatgrass and its amazing health benefits now. Enjoy it whenever you can.
