If you love mint then you are going to love this green smoothie recipe. Think Girl Scout cookie taste here.  I love a green smoothies and when it tastes like a thin mint I am so excited!  The cold of the ice, the green of the avocado and the mint flavor will have you doing the happy dance.

I used to be the “Cookie Mom” in girl scouts.  That was the year I put on 10 pounds because I kept going into my garage where are the cookies were stored and ate way to many thin mints.  I wound up owing the troop over $100 dollars.  Needles to say that was my only year as troop cookie mom.  Thank goodness!

Coconut Water

Coconut Water is Natures Gatorade

Coconut water is very hydrating for the bod and contains five essential electrolytes that are present in the human body.

These include:

  • calcium
  • magnesium
  • phosphorous
  • potassium
  • sodium

Cocoa Nibs Are Natures “Chocolate” Gift

They are actually the actually cocoa bean roasted and broken into tiny pieces.  They are crunchy and full of antioxidants, fiber, magnesium and potassium.  Who knew!

When you start adding smoothies into your diet the body will start to do some much-needed spring-cleaning. The fiber in the fruit and veggies acts like a broom and starts to clear out some of the toxic debris that have been accumulating. Another benefit of green smoothies is more energy. By taking in more vitamins and minerals you are feeding the body nutrition. When you feed the body whole food nutrition it will use it and your energy levels will increase.

Thin Mint Fat Blasting Smoothie

Ingredients

1 c coconut milk, rice milk, or hemp milk

3/4 c coconut water

1 tbsp. ground flax seed or ground chia seed

1 tbsp. cacao nibs

1/2 avocado

1 tsp. peppermint extract or 1 drop peppermint essential oil

1/2 c ice

Instructions

Simply add all ingredients into a Blendtec Blender or high- speed blender. If needed, add water to reach your desired thickness. Use organic produce whenever possible. You can add extra protein to any smoothie by including either a scoop of your favorite protein powder or 3 tablespoons of hemp.

    Laura, I admire you and read your Awesome Journey to Fit and Fabulous lifestyle. I’ve been in good shape most of my life, until after pregnancy. It took 1 year to shed my almost 50 lbs baby fat back in 1986. Healthy diet, lit sugar, 5x week cardio classes. Stayed at 140 many yrs, give or take few lbs. Life happens, good, bad, sad. Yrs later, my dad died 2017, 10 months later my bff dies ! Also, 2017, took on my 3 g.sons, all under 6, raising the them, still have them, 2 yrs now! . Parents homeless & drug addiction sadly! So, Grief, stress combined, I ate my emotions at nite! Now, New Year 2019 almost here , I’m up 2 sizes! I’m bummed, but ready to eat clean, keep up my 5x wk strength training & -lite cardio workouts! Any help, tips, programs, I’m READY to get Fit-Fabulous ( like you!) again at now age 58! Thank you ahead of time, Sallina 😉 Aloha
