The Benefits of Squats

They are a great exercise for your lower body. They target the thighs, booty and even engage your core! Proper form is essential when doing squats.  If you have knee issues please talk to your Dr. before doing this type of exercise.  The beauty of squats is that you can do them anywhere.  You need very little room and can do them with or without weights.

1. Squats engage many muscles throughout your whole body.

Doing squats will engage many muscles throughout your whole body.  Upper, lower and core. They are great for promoting better mobility and balance.  Squatting is a functional movement, one that we do naturally in our everyday life.

2. Non-impact and low stress on the back.

Since you are not jumping squats are low-impact on the body. Other exercises can put undue stress on your back.

3. You can do them anywhere, with very little space and no weights.

Repetition is great when doing squats.  The beauty is that you only need a small space. That’s it. No excuses, if you can’t get to the gym or are traveling.  As long as you can stand you can squat.

4. Help to improve your posture and keep your core tight.

Doing squats engages your core so you don’t fall over.  Plus your core and back muscles have to keep you balanced as you squat up and down. Most people think squats only working their lower body.  Surprise!

Squats are great for burning calories because they use many muscle groups at once

5. Great fat burning exercise and a great muscle-building move.

Squatting involves many muscles and muscles working equals fat burning. Plus you are working some of the largest muscles in your whole body at once.  Now that is a win-win combination.

6. Tone every square inch of your sexy legs.

Since squats use so many different muscles in your legs, they are great at toning your whole leg. Most equipment in the gym isolates only one muscle group.  But squats, oh no darling, they use many muscles at once giving you gorgeous gams!

7. Help to firm your booty. We are talking bounce a quarter off the booty!

The booty muscles are called in full force when squatting.  Squats will help to give your booty that nice round firm look.  Who doesn’t want that?

8. They can help to improve digestion.

Squats help your body to improve the flow of your lymph system, which are your bodies natural built-in detox system.  Movement helps the lymph fluid to flow and help the body remove toxins from the body and aid in better digestion.

9. Doing squats can help to reduce cellulite.

They can increase your heart rate and improves circulation.  This will pump more oxygenated blood to your body.  More nutrient and oxygen-rich blood are pumped to all your beautiful organs and muscles helping to reduce cellulite.

10. Squats can help to improve your posture.

When doing squats your back muscles are used to keep your body upright and to balance.  This can help your posture.  Good posture means better breathing, better digestion because your internal organs are not being “squished” by lean over with bad posture.  Plus good posture looks good on everyone.

Proper form is essential when doing squats.  If you have knee or back issues please talk to your Dr. before doing this type of exercise.
