Best Crispy Kale Chips

Even if you are not a fan of kale you will love these simple and easy to make kale chips. You will be pleasantly surprised. When I first made them I did not think I would like them either. Actually I ate the whole bunch in one sitting. My daughter who eats very few vegetables loves them and asks me to make them for her and her friends. Happy dance for a mom to get her kids to eat veggies.

Kale Chips Will Be Your New BFF

Even if you are not a fan of kale you will love these simple and easy to make kale chips.  You will be pleasantly surprised.  When I first made them I did not think I would like them either.  Actually I ate the whole bunch in one sitting.  My daughter who eats very few vegetables loves them and asks me to make them for her and her friends.  Happy dance for a mom to get her kids to eat veggies.

Kale is low in calorie, high in fiber and has zero fat. One cup of  has only 36 calories, 5 grams of fiber and 0 grams of fat. It is great for aiding in digestion and elimination with its great fiber content. It’s also filled with so many nutrients, vitamins, folate and magnesium as well as those listed below. There are so many health benefits to this green super food.

5 Health Benefits of Kale

Kale is low in calories – you can eat a whole head of kale chips and they are so low in calories you won’t feel guilty munching away on them

Kale is high in fiber – since it is high in fiber is helps with digestion and elimination too. Forget laxatives kale will do the trick

Kale is high in vitamins A, C & K – vitamin a helps to support eye health and skin as well as helping to fight off cancer. Vitamin C is helps your immune system and Vitamin K is important in blood clotting & bone and heart health

Kale is a great anti-inflammatory food – One cup of kale is filled with 10% of the RDA of omega-3 fatty acids, which can help, fight against arthritis, asthma and autoimmune disorders.

Kale is high in calcium and iron –  natural forms of calcium help to support bone health and iron is an important mineral uses in hundreds of bodily functions such as blood and cell health.

Best Crispy Kale Chips

Happy dance for a mom to get her kids to eat veggies. These are so easy and delicious! This will be a staple in your house like it is mine.

Ingredients

1 large head of Kale

1 tbsp. olive oil

1 tsp. Celtic sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees
  2. Wash kale and pat dry
  3. Remove the leaves from the stems and place in bowl
  4. Drizzle the olive oil over kale and add salt (less is more, too much oil will make them soggy)
  5. Gently coat the leaves using your hands
  6. Spread out on a baking sheet giving room to each piece
  7. Transfer to oven and bake 10 minutes then turn leaves and bake another 5 to 10 minutes until crisp
